BB Cream – I use Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream Light
BB Cream is a MUST when you’re constantly on the move, don’t have access to a bathroom or simply for when you don’t have enough room in your toiletry bag to carry every single cosmetic item you need! If you haven’t heard of BB Cream, you must be living under a rock! BB Cream has been all the rage for the last couple of years and I completely understand why. As an all-in-one cosmetic, you know longer need to carry around the likes of moisturiser, primer, sunscreen and foundation (to name a few).
I wear this almost everyday as a basic, easy to apply foundation/tinted moisturiser with a touch of blush and mascara. It’s so much more practical to have just one tube to give light coverage and add colour to my face. It’s perfect to splash on when you’re in a rush or just want to make the most of your time exploring the city you’re in – making it ideal for travelling.
If you’re after a foundation with more coverage for everyday, yet still with a natural finish – I like to use Revlon ColorStay Foundation. For a foundation with optimal coverage for those nights out – I use Make Up For Ever HD Foundation.
Mineral Powder Foundation – I use MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Light
Mineral powder foundations are a great addition to a traveller’s beauty kit. They can be used to set and fix a foundation (or BB Cream like I use) or even just by themselves as a powder foundation. Powder foundations provide low coverage and allow for a natural look – perfect for an everyday look by itself, or for that extra coverage when going out at night time!
Mascara – I use Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies
The perfect beauty product to complete any look – travelling or not. You can wear it with a full face of makeup, light coverage makeup or nothing else at all! I love to add a touch of mascara with any look just to enhance my eyes and volumize my lashes, especially when limited with time to get ready!
Lip Balm – I use Lucas’ Papaw Ointment
The most common causes of chapped lips are dry heat and cold weather; so if you’re planning on travelling to dry locations it’s important to bring along some kind of lip balm to help prevent this from occurring. Lucas’ Papaw Ointment is my favourite lip product and has been my go-to lip balm for years. It works wonders for clearing up those dry lips and it also works nicely as a clear lip gloss. It’s handy to keep in your bag and use for sunburn, grazes, chafing, insect bites and whatever else that might be thrown your way!
Bronzer & Blush Set – I use NARS Laguna & Orgasm Set and ELF Bronzer & Blush Duo in St. Lucia
A Bronzer & Blush Set is an important beauty product to add a natural glow and a touch of colour to your face. I use NARS Laguna & Orgasm set, as well as ELF Bronzer & Blush Duo in St. Lucia when I’m in need of a more budget friendly alternative. By adding just a touch of blush on the apples of your cheeks and bronzer in the hollows of the cheeks and around the face, it adds more warmth to your makeup – which is essential when you’re as pale as me! It can be applied lightly for during the daytime and can be used on those nights out for contouring to bring more definition to the face.
Dry Shampoo – I use Batiste Dry Shampoo Blush
You no longer need to shampoo your hair every time you squeeze into one of those dingy hostel showers! When it’s not practical to wash your hair or you aren’t able to jump in the shower – first thing you should do is grab a bottle of dry shampoo. A quick spray of this baby and it will absorb all of the oil in the roots of your hair. Then you’re ready to head straight out the door – it’s as simple as that. Seriously, it’s the first thing I buy when I arrive overseas! Bonus points, it smells nice too!
Is there anything that you would add to the list of essential travel beauty products?
