New Look + Travel Announcement

For those of you who have read my blog – welcome back! For those of you that are new to the blog – nice to meet you and I hope to see you around here more often.

As some of you may have noticed, my website had a little bit of a revamp. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been pretty bad on the blog front lately and this has been a long time coming. I’ve been quiet on the blog and social media, not to mention the travel side of things! If I’m completely honest, I had lost motivation and didn’t write nearly as much as I had anticipated, because I wasn’t travelling and had my head down working away.

But I’m excited to announce that I’m back with a new look & feel for the blog AND a travel announcement! So it looks like you’ll be seeing me around more often #sorrynotsorry.

First things first…

New Look For The Blog

I’ve wanted to redesign my blog for a while and I’ve finally buckled down and done it. It still needs a bit of tweaking – no judgement please – but I’d love to hear your thoughts on the new layout and blog in general. I’ve tried to make the website minimalist and clean so that it’s easier to navigate.

I would love to know what type of content you would like to read about – a particular destination, blogging advice, money-saving tips – you name it!

Upcoming Travel Plans

As it turns out, I’ve made a few last minute travel plans recently. So where exactly am I going? Well I’m heading back to Europe in just a couple of days – SURPRISE! I’m beyond excited to be travelling back to that side of the world for the first time in three years. With the help of some amazing photos from Instagram, my current plan looks a little something like this…

England

First up, I’ll be making my way to London to visit a friend who moved there this year. I’m not sure how much sight-seeing we’ll be doing in-between catching up but I’d love for you to share your favourite spots in London with me for when we have some free time. We’ll definitely be visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter because 1. I’ve always wanted to be a wizard (well, witch) and 2. I NEED to try that butterbeer!

Netherlands

After spending some time in Amsterdam a few years back, I can’t wait to get back to this city. I wasn’t there for long enough last time, so I’m going to spend a few days there after visiting London. I’ve heard Jordaan and De Pijp are the must-see neighbourhoods so I’m sure I’ll find myself wandering through there at some point. After missing the Anne Frank House last time I was there, I’m hoping I get the chance to visit the museum this time. For those of you who don’t know, I can be a bit of a history buff.

Poland

Poland will be my first new country of the trip. I couldn’t tell you how many people have said fantastic things about this country (let’s just say a lot), so I’m pleased to get a little taste of this place! I’ll be based in the culturally-rich city of Krakow where I’m hoping to get my history fix and some fun times.

Croatia

I’ll be making the journey down to Croatia for the next leg of my trip. Starting in Split, I’ll be heading along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coastline towards Krka National Park and Zadar. Fingers crossed that the weather is still nice by the time I get there because I would love to go swimming in the falls!

Slovenia

I’ll start by saying that Slovenia looks like a dream so I can’t wait to visit. I’ll be spending my time in the quirky capital Ljubljana and the delightful Lake Bled. My trip wouldn’t be complete without a bit of a hike so I’ll be making my way up the Ojstrica hike and Mala Osojnica hike to capture the postcard view of the lake and mountains in Bled.

Hungary

I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Budapest so I couldn’t go back to Europe without visiting this city! I’m spending a week there, with the possibility of a couple of day trips. I know the token attractions are the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Buda Castle and the Thermal Baths, but I’d love to hear what other amazing things there are to do in this picturesque eastern gem of a city.

Later this year, I’ll be heading back to the USA and Mexico…but that’s a whole other trip!

If you would like to follow my travels in real time, join me on Facebook and Instagram.

I would love love love to hear your suggestions for these places! What should I do? Where should I eat? What can’t be missed?! Share your favourite spots with me!

I really love the new look! I just re-designed my blog as well. I like the minimal look so readers can focus on the content and photos. Can’t wait to follow along with your trip to Europe (I’ve never been).

Recently stumbled across your blog and LOVE it. I totally understand the lack of Motivation (I’m in one myself that is fueled by too much work at my day Job).
I’m excited to elarn that you will be in Poland (the Country where my parents are from) and Krakow is a lovely City. Don’t Forget to go to the ‘torture’ Museum and also the concentration camps nearby but another great Thing on the list near Krakow is visit the Salt Mines!

Wow, what a dreamy adventure. Looks like you’ll get a good mix of new adventures and trips down memory lane. I’m sure you talk about this somewhere else…but how do you start? Take time away from work, save up money, find affordable places to stay, etc?

Love the new look! I am so happy that you are coming to Hungary because I live in this small country, but I can tell you, it’s worth visiting!
